I’m a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute where I earned a BFA in Animation. Combining stories and art has always been my passion. More than anything I’ve always had a soft spot for pre-production though I’ve still got plenty of practice in animating and post. Like most people my personal style is largely shaped through the media I consume, books like Yokohama Shopping Log, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Brave Story, as well as shows like Astro Boy, Detective Conan, and CyberSix. The tones and content of these have been a big influence in my films, especially so in my senior thesis Lune. Throughout school as well as while doing freelance I’ve always embraced the idea of playing with the tools available to me to make better and unique work. Sometimes simple things like trying a new style and other times teaching myself Cinema 4D to try and meld 2D and 3D together. One of my films, Necro Dance was shown at both the Blacksheep and Alamo Show, in addition to getting a spot in season 6 of Cinema KC.
